MEKÂN • SPACE approaches responsive environments as the key spaces of interaction in an information society, studies the interface of digital and physical environments, and uses sensors, actuators, and scripting to develop practical hands-on experiments for festivals, events and museums.
We combine technology, science and art to create interactive and immersive art.
WHAT IS THE NEXT BIG THING?
INTERACTIVE ART IS THE NEXT BIG THING
Expedition is a kinetic installation/performance; exploring "body and space interaction" with "bio-textiles" and "arduino based kinetic structure". It is the brain child of İpek Kuran Yıldırım and Zeynep Burcu Kaya, with the help of Ali İhsan Tokatlıoğlu and Zeynep İşlek. Amazing performance artist Selen Lun breathes life into pieces and interacts with them in a way that blows our mind. It is exhibited at Muğlak Alan, curated by Nilgün Yüksel.
"How do we define "life"?"
Is the difference between the live and lifeless, in their each inhalation and exhalation?
Or should we focus on the cells that spontaneously multiply?
Is the vitality, the sum of chemicals, a process, or a dynamic system?

“There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Pick a nice day, suggests, and try it.”
